Recruitment has begun for Leadership Ocala/Marion Class XXIII. The mission of LOM is to educate, develop, and motivate emerging leaders to be involved and committed to meeting the challenges facing our community. This outstanding program has a long history in our community “where tomorrow’s leaders grow together” and class XXIII is sure to be even better! The sessions start in September 2009 and run one full business day each month through March 2010. All interested students must fill out an application by May 1st. Tuition for the program is $750 and due before the start of the program in September. Junior Achievement, "JA Economics for Success"

JA “Economics for Success” Day will be held on Thursday, April 23 at Liberty Middle School. The program provides local leaders the opportunity to reach out to area 8th graders to teach them valuable financial literacy and work readiness skills in a fun and scripted classroom setting. JA “Economics for Success” Day is a high impact event in the life of our community and our young people! Volunteers are still needed! Training for new volunteers will be held on Tues. April 14 at 7:30 to 9 a.m. or Wednesday, April 15 from 11:30 to 1 p.m.

ELO Tuesday Golf League

Attention all golfers! The “ELO Hackers” golf league started their spring season on March 10. The league usually is playing on Tuesday evenings at the Pine Oaks Golf Course.
